How we examine an online casino
Updated September 6, 2026
Every casino on this site goes through the same examination. Nothing is scored from a press release: we open an account, deposit, play, request a withdrawal and read the terms end to end.
The nine checks
- Licence and registration. Who issues the licence, whether the operator is registered with iGaming Ontario, and which company signs the terms.
- Withdrawals. How long a cash-out actually takes, what the verification asks for, and whether limits are stated in the terms or invented at the cashier.
- Canadian banking. Interac e-Transfer, iDebit, InstaDebit, credit cards, eCheck — what is genuinely available to a Canadian account, not what is listed on a global page.
- Bonus terms. Wagering multiplier, what it applies to, game weighting, maximum bet while wagering, expiry, and the maximum win from free spins.
- Game supply. Which studios are live for Canadian players, how many live-dealer tables, whether the jackpots on the front page are actually playable here.
- Support. Live chat response measured in minutes, and whether the answer came from a person who read the question.
- Security. Transport encryption, session handling, two-factor options, and what the privacy policy says about sharing data.
- Mobile. The site on a phone: whether the cashier and the verification upload work in a mobile browser without an app.
- Responsible play. Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion, and how quickly a limit takes effect once you set it.
How the score is built
Withdrawals and licence weigh most; the bonus weighs least, because a large headline number with a 60× wagering requirement is worth less than a small one you can actually clear. A casino that fails verification, refuses a documented withdrawal or advertises a bonus it does not honour is removed from the lists regardless of its other scores.
Re-examination
Each review carries the date of its last examination. Operators change terms without notice, so pages are re-checked and the date is updated when they are — if a page looks stale to you, tell us and it moves to the front of the queue.
